Flower Mural
I painted a freehand black & white mural in our bedroom
inspired by this awesome wallpaper.
My original plan was to fill the whole wall
but I ended up liking how it looks above the headboard.
It's like sleeping in a garden.

I listed that the sofas were from Plush Sofas (an Australian chain store).
Our living room is really tiny (it looks bigger in the photos!) so they are compact little two seaters.
We got them as floor stock so they were a great price.

I love the b/w effect. Even if I can paint, I wouldn't have the guts to try it on a wall :) I wonder how you have such a perfectly aligned painting on the wall given the free hand style and perspective issues while painting up close :)

The black and white is so striking, but you would have to restrain me from coloring it in eventually. ;)
My father painted similar murals for us in our rooms as kids and we had reclaimed white picket fence panels as headboards...our friends wanted to hire him out to do their rooms!
...oh yeah, and I pestered him until he painted purple footprints going up the wall, across the ceiling and disappearing out the window too. :)

Black and white is indeed a classic color combination. You can’t go wrong with these two. I like how simple your mural is. However, since your design is inspired by flowers, dashes of color will give it more life. Flowers are usually vibrant. Aren’t they?
Amazing work a blend of creativity and beauty. I love the concept, kids will love this.
